WEAPONRY EXHIBITION

The Weapons’ Exhibition contains over 900 weapons and their accessories, being the largest collection of this kind in our country. The section designated for the Medieval Age contains numerous valuable and rare pieces: two hands swords, Italian and Spanish rapiers, parade weapons, Oriental edged and firearms (such as scimitars, hangers and swords) decorated with gold, silver, ivory and gemstones. The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to hunting and artistic decorated weapons, many of which were considered collectables, with the centre pieces being formed by the Nicolae Ceaușescu collection. The third part presents regular edged and fire weapons from within the collections of our museum beginning with 18th century right up to the end of 20th century. The collection is organized both in a typological and chronological manner, illustrating the weapons of the main armies of the world (European, American or Asian).
